| Isaiah 61 The Lord has sent me to preach Good News to the poor, to bind up the broken hearted, to preach liberty to the captives, and to them that are bound, the opening of prison. |

| THE GOD OF ALL PEACE |
Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of His kingdom) at all times and in all ways [under all circumstances and conditions, whatever comes]. The Lord [be] with you all. |
| THE CHRISTIAN'S COMFORT IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLES |
Beloved, I implore you as aliens and strangers and exiles [in this world] to abstain from the sensual urges (the evil desires, the passions of the flesh, your lower nature) that wage war against the soul. |
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. |
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever — forsake not the works of Your own hands. |
| Philippians 1:6 And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you. |

Here is love, vast as the ocean, loving kindness as the flood, When the Prince of Life my ransom shed for me His Precious Blood, Who His love will not remember, who can cease to sing His praise? He shall never be forgotten through Heaven's everlasting days. On the Mount of crucifixion, fountains opened deep and wide, Through the floodgates of God's mercy flowed the vast and gracious tide, Grace and Love like mighty rivers poured incessant from above, Heaven's peace and perfect justice kissed a guilty world in love. |

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness — trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. |
| He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. |
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. |

| Comfort, ye ministers of Grace, Comfort my people, saith your God! Ye soon shall see His smiling face, His golden sceptre, not His rod, And own, when now the cloud's removed, He only chastened whom He loved. |
| Who sow in tears, in joy shall reap; The Lord shall comfort all that mourn; Who now go on their way and weep, With joy they doubtless shall return, And bring their sheaves with vast increase, And have their fruit to holiness |

| PERSONAL PRAYER OF COMFORT |

| Psalms 91:1-2 Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." |
| Jeremiah 31:3-4 The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you. |

| Again I will build you and you will be built, O Virgin Israel! You will again be adorned with your timbrels and go forth in the dancing [chorus] of those who make merry. |
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. RefrainThis is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior, all the day long. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels descending bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Refrain Perfect submission, all is at rest I in my Savior am happy and blest, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. |
