Isaiah 61
The Lord has sent me to preach Good News to the poor, to bind
up the broken hearted, to preach liberty to the captives, and to
them that are bound, the opening of prison.
THE GOD
OF ALL PEACE

Now may the Lord of peace
Himself grant you His peace (the
peace of His kingdom) at all
times and in all ways [under all
circumstances and conditions,
whatever comes]. The Lord
[be] with you all.
2 Thessalonians 3:16
THE CHRISTIAN'S COMFORT IN THE MIDST OF TROUBLES
Life is certainly a journey.  For a Christian, it is a "walk of faith" and a "war of the
flesh".  Apostle Peter urges us through the Word in 1 Peter 2:11-12, to walk as though
we really do not belong here.  Apostle Paul tells us in Hebrews 11:13,  that our
forefather's didn't see their promises but greeted them at a distance, as they
acknowledged and confessed that they strangers and temporary residents and exiles
on the earth. Our walk of faith has constant action, and this action is onward and
upward and requires, that we keep our eyes "fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher
of Our Faith".  Our forefather's longed for the day that we now have the privilege to
appropriate everyday in our Christian walk. As children of God, we have been given the
legal right to approach the throne of Grace and Mercy, to enjoy the indwelling
fellowship of God's Holy Spirit, and every other covenantal promise of inheritance,
which Our Heavenly Father so freely lavishes upon us, because of His Son's sacrifice
and incessant undying love for each one of us.  What Love!  What Love!

Beloved, I implore
you as aliens and
strangers and
exiles [in this
world] to abstain
from the sensual
urges (the evil
desires, the
passions of the
flesh, your lower
nature) that
wage war against
the soul.

These all died in faith,
not having received
the promises, but
having seen them afar
off were assured of
them, embraced them
and confessed that
they were strangers
and pilgrims on
the earth.
Hebrews 11:13
1 Peter 2:11-12
Since the introduction of sin into the world, man's walk has never been a walk of
simple unmingled pleasure. It is just a given fact, that all who walk this way will
encounter trials and difficulties, but some more than others, in the physical realm with
bodily pains and disease. In the moral realm,  with conflicts of passions, the remorse of
conscience and the dread of death. In the social, with disappointments in business, the
treason of false friends, the corruption of the world and the bereavement of death.

Though I walk in
the midst of
trouble, You will
revive me; You will
stretch forth Your
hand against the
wrath of my
enemies, and
Your right hand
will save me. The
Lord will perfect
that which
concerns me;
Your mercy and
loving-kindness, O
Lord, endure
forever — forsake
not the works of
Your own hands.
But we are not left helpless. We have the greatest support when we are truly
connected to the One Who can lead us through these dark and trying times that are
sure to come upon our path, as sojourners on the Way.  Be comforted dear Christian,
Jesus is your all sufficient-support!  Jesus is your Way maker. His loving kindness, His
righteousness and love are the foundation of your path, and His mighty Angelic Realm
walk before you hiding you from the plots of the enemy.  Psalms 31:19-20
Jesus is equal to and above all of our emergencies.  "He is our refuge and strength in
the midst of every storm and trouble".  There is no enemy from which He cannot deliver
us. There is no trial under which He cannot provide us support. There is no danger at
present or in the future, in which He cannot rescue us. In Daniel and the Lion's den, or
the  Israelites  journey through the Red Sea, or King David's "valley of the shadow of
death",  He was more than able and today He is still all-sufficient!   Your bright Hope and
Future awaits you!  Trust in Jesus! He longs for you to know His loving kindness.
Psalms 138:7-8
Philippians 1:6
And I am
convinced and
sure of this very
thing, that He Who
began a good work
in you will continue
until the day of
Jesus Christ [right
up to the time of
His return],
developing [that
good work] and
perfecting and
bringing it to full
completion in you.

Here is love, vast as the ocean, loving
kindness as the flood,
When the Prince of Life my ransom shed
for me His Precious Blood,
Who His love will not remember, who can
cease to sing His praise?
He shall never be forgotten through
Heaven's everlasting days.
On the Mount of crucifixion, fountains
opened deep and wide,
Through the floodgates of God's mercy
flowed the vast and gracious tide,
Grace and Love like mighty rivers poured
incessant from above,
Heaven's peace and perfect justice kissed a
guilty world in love.

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up
for those who fear, revere, and worship You, goodness
which You have wrought for those who trust and take
refuge in You before the sons of men!
Psalms 31:19-20

Because he has
set his love upon
Me, therefore will I
deliver him; I will
set him on high,
because he knows
and understands
My name [has a
personal
knowledge of My
mercy, love, and
kindness — trusts
and relies on Me,
knowing I will
never forsake him,
no, never].
Psalms 91:14-15
He shall call upon
Me, and I will
answer him; I will
be with him in
trouble, I will
deliver him and
honor him.

Blessed be the God
and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of
mercies and God
of all comfort,
who comforts us in
all our tribulation,
that we may be
able to comfort
those who are in
any trouble, with
the comfort with
which we
ourselves are
comforted by God.
DANIEL IN THE
LION'S DEN
MOSES CROSSING
THE RED SEA
1 Corinthians 1:8-9
And He will establish you to the end [keep you steadfast, give
you strength, and guarantee your vindication; He will be your
warrant against all accusation or indictment so that you will
be] guiltless and irreproachable in the day of our Lord Jesus
Christ (the Messiah).
God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true
to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you
were called into companionship and participation with His
Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
HE PARTED THE
HEAVENS AND

THE DARK CLOUDS

Psalms 18:9
2 Corinthians 1:2-5
Grace to you and
peace from God
our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
Comfort in Suffering
My steps have held
closely to your path
Psalms 17:5
Comfort, ye ministers of Grace,
Comfort my people, saith your God!
Ye soon shall see His smiling face,
His golden sceptre, not His rod,
And own, when now the cloud's removed,
He only chastened whom He loved.
Hymn By John Wesley
Comfort Ye Ministers Of Grace
Who sow in tears, in joy shall reap;
The Lord shall comfort all that mourn;
Who now go on their way and weep,
With joy they doubtless shall return,
And bring their sheaves with vast increase,
And have their fruit to holiness
In the secret place of your presence you hide them from
the plots of men; You keep them secretly in your pavilion
from the strife of tongures.
Eternal Father in Heaven, In the Name of Jesus, answer me
when I call, O God of my righteousness (uprightness, justice,
and right standing with You)! You have freed me when I was
hemmed in and enlarged me when I was in distress; have
mercy upon me and hear my prayer (Psalms 4:1).

You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My
presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face
(Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of
necessity and on the authority of Your Word].

Hide not Your face from me; turn not Your servant away in
anger, You Who have been my help! Cast me not off, neither
forsake me, O God of my salvation! (Psalms 27:8-9)

I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy and steadfast love,
because You have seen my affliction, You have taken note of
my life's distresses, And You have not given me into the hand of
the enemy; You have set my feet in a broad place.

Have mercy and be gracious unto me, O Lord, for I am in
trouble; with grief my eye is weakened, also my inner self and
my body. (Psalms 31:7-9)

Holy Father, thank you for giving me comfort in my time of
need. Thank you for loving me and giving me your Holy Spirit,
my personal Comforter and Helper in the midst of every storm.
Thank you for your grace and mercy and the comfort of
knowing, that in the Name of Jesus and by His Blood, you hear
and answer my prayer; and that I can have peace, knowing
help is on the way. In you I do trust and place my faith. Please
hide me in secret of your presence and shelter me in your love.
Amen
PERSONAL PRAYER OF COMFORT
Psalms 91:1-2
Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God.  He who dwells in the secret
place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust."
Jeremiah 31:3-4
The Lord appeared from of old to me [Israel], saying, Yes, I have loved you
with an everlasting love; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn you
and continued My faithfulness to you.
Jesus said in the Gospel of John 15:7, "if you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and
My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and
it shall be done for you." This is saying to us then, that to enjoy the continual peace,
love, comfort, and fellowship of His presence, we must comply with His precepts and
terms for this place of abiding and comfort. God has sealed us with His Holy Spirit as
the earnest of our inheritance and He ensures us this place of fellowship is very
sweet and safe. This requires our obedience and reverent submission to His
precepts. The return of our compliance to His commands, is more refreshing than the
dew or the midst of the morning, or the sun shining in all its splendor and fullness.
This is truly a foretaste of Glory and it puts one in heaven before his time; none can
know how delicious and striking it is, but only one who has felt it and known it, just as
none could know how sweet honey is, but those who have tasted it. This is our
blessed assurance and our perfect rest!
Again I will build you and you will be built, O Virgin Israel! You will again
be adorned with your timbrels and go forth in the dancing [chorus] of
those who make merry.
SCRIPTURES TO COMFORT

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.

RefrainThis is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long.

Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels descending bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

Refrain

Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
Blessed Assurance
Written by Fanny Crosby
Since our faith is founded and grounded in Jesus Christ and the Word of God, we
should build ourselves up in this Truth, practice what it tells us to do,  and wait
patiently for God's mercy and comfort to produce a harvest of beautiful eternal
fruit, which in time will bring His peace and joy as we persevere. Reach ahead.
Jude 20-21
But you, beloved, build yourselves up [founded] on your most holy faith [make
progress, rise like an edifice higher and higher], praying in the Holy Spirit; Guard
and keep yourselves in the love of God; expect and patiently wait for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) — [which will bring you] unto life eternal.
2 Thessalonians 3:16
Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace (the peace of
His kingdom) at all times and in all ways [under all circumstances and
conditions, whatever comes]. The Lord [be] with you all.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you.
Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be
troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be
agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and
intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]
Romans 16:20
And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace
of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) be with you.
1 Thessalonians 5:22-24
Abstain from evil [shrink from it and keep aloof from it] in whatever
form or whatever kind it may be. And may the God of peace Himself
sanctify you through and through [separate you from profane things,
make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; and may your spirit and
soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless
at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).  Faithful is He
Who is calling you [to Himself] and utterly trustworthy, and He will also
do it [fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you].
Philippians 4:6-7
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every
circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ( definite
requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to
God. And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul
assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God
and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that
peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount
guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

And all your [spiritual] children shall be disciples [taught by the Lord and
obedient to His will], and great shall be the peace and undisturbed composure of
